Hello, I'm Miguel
I am a project manager. I am a parent. I am an expat living in Lisbon, Portugal.
A few years ago I relocated here with my family. What started as a temporary contract slowly turned into a new chapter of life abroad.
How It Began
Moving to Portugal wasn't in the long-range plan. Like many relocation journeys, it started as a job chance and quickly grew into something far bigger.
The early months were demanding — new systems, new routines, new expectations. Everyday tasks seemed more complex than intended.
The Adjustment Phase
There was culture shock, uncertainty, and a lot of learning by doing. Yet gradually, routines took shape. We found places that fit us, met other families, and began building something that felt steady.
Why I Created Pure Horizon Route
Most online information was either corporate relocation guidance or shallow tourism content. What was missing was an honest, everyday family perspective.
This site aims to fill that gap — practical advice drawn from real life in Portugal.
What This Site Is (And Isn't)
This site IS:
- Practical insights from living in Portugal
- Centered on family life and day-to-day realities
- Updated only when something truly changes
This site ISN'T:
- Not a tourism authority resource
- Not a sponsored review platform
- Not a generic travel blog
Looking Ahead
Our time in Portugal goes on, and so does the learning journey. As long as the information remains useful, I’ll keep documenting what we uncover.
If you have questions about family life in Lisbon or anywhere in Portugal, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
Best regards,
Miguel
